Behavorial Specialist

POSITION:  Behavioral Specialist

HOURS: 35 Hours per week

Pay: 19.23 per hour

 

Responsibilities:
– Provide behavioral support and intervention to individuals with special needs
– Implement behavior plans and strategies based on applied behavior analysis principles
– Conduct functional behavior assessments and develop behavior support plans
– Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans
– Monitor and track progress of individuals, adjusting interventions as needed
– Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary
– Assist with the development and implementation of social skills training programs
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client progress and treatment interventions

Train family members and other support staff to implement written programs, Evaluate and monitor progress on programs and modify as needed.

Qualifications:
– Master’s Degree in Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field and at least three years of experience working with children with disabilities or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
– Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain confidentiality
– Experience working with individuals with behavioral health needs, preferably in a clinical or educational setting
– Familiarity with applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and techniques
– Strong understanding of crisis intervention strategies and ability to remain calm in high-stress situations
– Experience working with children or adolescents is preferred
