Position: Human Resources Generalist

Hours: Non-exempt, part-time 35 hours per week

Qualifications

  1. Associates Degree in Human Resources or related field and two years of experience in a Human Resources position.

  2. Ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize work tasks, and work effectively in both a team and individual setting.

  3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  4. Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

  5. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  6. Strong commitment to the integration of people with disabilities into all aspects of community life.

Responsibilities

  1. Actively support STIC’s mission, philosophy, and values and our pursuit of community integration for all people with disabilities.

  2. Occasionally work a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings and weekends

  3. Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.

  4. Responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and 403(b) plan.

  5. Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.

  6. Conduct new-employee and onboarding orientations

  7. Assist with recruiting, sourcing, and onboarding of employees including pre-employment screening and tracking

  8. Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.

  9. Ensure compliance with applicable labor and employment laws in HR-related activities and problem resolution in order to mitigate litigation risk

  10. Complete employment/ wage verifications both oral and written

  11. Process all paperwork in regards to FMLA, NYS Disability, ADA and Medical Leaves.

  12. Maintain employee files before, during, and after employment, in compliance with applicable legal requirements.

  13. Assist in hiring process by posting available positions, reviewing resumes, and performing and setting up interviews and reference checks.

  14. Maintain human resources records by filing and retaining applications, resumes, and applicant logs.

  15. Maintain supervisor and employee confidence by keeping human resources information confidential.

  16. Act as back up for Human Resources Department as needed.

  17. Perform any other related duties as required by supervisor
