Professional counseling

STIC provides professional counseling, psychotherapy, and support to individuals with disabilities and their families. Professional counseling is a personal journey of self-discovery and understanding. At STIC, we look at all the issues that are interfering with an individual’s ability to have a fulfilling life and help them to address them.

Using an approach that is focused on issues and needs rather than a label or diagnosis, the pace and content of therapy is determined by the Individual and guided by the counselor. Therapists work with individuals and families to achieve their desired outcomes, in an environment free from “judgment” or “expectations”.

Our Psychotherapist and Social Workers are able to work on disability-related issues, as well as emotional and mental health issues that may or may not be connected to a person’s disability. This could include: family counseling; physical, emotional or sexual abuse; stress at work or home; and other personal concerns.

We strive to provide strategies and techniques to help individuals and families to cope with their issues as they work toward their goals and experience personal growth.
