Position: Consumer Directed Personal Assistance (CDPA) Authorizations Specialist
Hours: Non-exempt, Full-time 35 hours per week
Hourly Rate: $18.75
Qualifications
Associates Degree in Health or Human services and experience working with people within the disability community or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to effectively interact and work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize work tasks and work effectively both in a team and individually
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent conflict resolution skills.
Knowledge of community based long term care services preferred.
Strong commitment to the integration of people with disabilities into all aspects of community life.
Valid Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle.
Responsibilities
Process re-authorizations from all funding sources including
Entering into STIC’s CIL Data 2 database
Scanning into folder on server and informing billing
Working cooperatively with Office for Aging (OFA), Fee for Service (FFS), and Managed Care Organizations (MCO) which includes:
Communication with funding sources to get overdue re-authorizations, discuss issues with re-authorizations – including error’s in hours, missing information, incorrect information and any other issues
Communication with consumers in regard to increases, decreases, suspensions, closures etc. that are indicated on the re-authorizations
Accurately generate and process FYIs as necessary to notify CDPA staff, HR Payroll and Billing of Consumer/Personal Assistant status changes
Track and monitor ‘loss of Medicaid’ information/letters from MCO’s
Assist Consumer Services Specialist as needed with conducting CDPA consumer intake meetings and annual home visits and complete required documentation and follow-up as necessary in a multi-county area
Provide back up to the Support Specialist and CDPA Department including but not limited to:
Preparing and maintaining program Intake & Enrollment Packets, Filing, scanning, shredding, bulk mailings etc.
Follow-up on pending consumers and personal assistants and track/update information in shared spreadsheet and maintain contact with consumers and personal assistants through phone calls as needed.
Process PA Information Forms including ordering medical from Occupational Medical providers if necessary and schedule enrollments once medical is received as needed.
Immediately report actual or suspected consumer and personal assistant misuse of the program and/or fraud to supervisor, Assistant Director, Executive Director or Quality Management Specialist.
Provide community outreach in regard to CDPA / STIC as needed in multi county area.
Maintain accurate program service records including timely filing and data entry into CIL Data 2 database, collecting statistical data and preparing program reports as required.
Attend all mandatory agency trainings, meetings, sign language class and advocacy groups.
