The Interpreter Services Department at STIC coordinates the provision of interpreters for the Deaf and hard of hearing. Professional interpreters provide a range of skills including: ASL interpretation, transliteration, Oral transliteration, and Deaf/Blind Tactile Interpretation. Assignment sites include but are not limited to: all educational interpreting from preschool to graduate level classes, hospital & medical appointments, technical training, employment needs, seminars, theatre, courtrooms, religious services etc. STIC Interpreter Services also advocates for the provision of services in accordance with the ADA regulations.
STIC maintains a large pool of interpreters in private practice that are independent contractors and accept assignments through our agency. These interpreters live in various locations throughout New York and Pennsylvania. Interpreters are matched to assignments based on their strengths, appropriateness to the job, and the location.
STIC actively serves Broome and Tioga Counties and we regularly provide services to other parts of New York and Pennsylvania as well.
We accept requests for Interpreters by phone, fax, mail or e-mail. Please give as much notice as possible for interpreter requests to allow STIC to get the most skilled Interpreter available within the area. Additionally, contact STIC’s Interpreter Service Coordinator for more information on rates and services.
