The Day Habilitation Program Purpose
The Day Habilitation Program is designed to help children and adults with developmental disabilities to live as independently as possible within their homes and communities.
To be eligible for Day Habilitation, individuals must have a developmental disability and be on the OPWDD Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Waiver.

Day Habilitation services are provided in Broome, Tioga and Chenango counties.
The Day Habilitation program is designed to help individuals achieve satisfying and
rewarding connections within their communities. The program assists both children and adults with all types of developmental disabilities to become as independent as possible in all areas of
their lives and supports them living in the most integrated settings possible. We teach individuals a variety of valued skills for independent living, enhancing their quality of life through person-centered activities in their communities.

What makes STIC’s program unique?
The Day Habilitation Program at STIC is a person-centered, community-based program providing one-on-one service to individuals with developmental disabilities.
Day Habilitation staff are trained to work as a team with consumers, Service Coordinators, parent/advocates and family members. Program participants learn new skills, while planning life goals that allow them to become as independent as possible. Services are individualized, with emphasis on the likes, wants, needs and dreams of each person in the program.
